In order to help our international students to have a further understanding of Dezhou, on March 23, the "International Students See Dezhou" social practice education activity organized by the School of International Education was successfully held in Wucheng. More than ten international students from Russia, Pakistan, Yemen, Morocco and Bangladesh participated in the activity.

    The first stop of this trip came to Wucheng County Shenlong Carpet Museum.Here, the docents showed the students the development of Chinese carpet culture and art for more than 3,000 years and the new achievements of Shenlong carpet art development.Under the guidance of the docents, the international students also experienced the traditional hand-woven craft and process. They said there would be the unique place where they could have such impressive experience. The ingenuity and rich connotation of the carpet art also surprised them a lot.

    Then international students came to Gubeichun Group. In the sauce-flavor production workshop corridor, the students closely visited the workshop, the wine warehouse and the working scene. In the digital brewing workshop, the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and traditional production techniques impressed the students. In the culture Hall, students gained the overall understanding of Chinese traditional wine culture which enjoys great popularity all over the world.

    Finally, the students arrived at Wucheng County New Era Civilization Practice Center to make a traditional hand-made food which called “Huamo”. Under the guidance of the craftsman, the students got to know the materials and tools for making Huamo and experienced the process of kneading dough and modeling by themselves. It brought them a chance to feel the artistic characteristics of Huamo and appreciate the charm of traditional culture.

    The visit was enriching and it vividly demonstrated the charm of Wucheng County's intangible cultural heritage and the unique local cultural heritage and spiritual outlook, allowing international students to have a deeper understanding of Dezhou and Shandong. In the future, the School of International Education will further deepen the communication and cooperation with the surrounding regions, make full use of regional cultural resources and lead international students to deeply understand the extraordinary charm of traditional Chinese culture.
